Scholarship Information

The Natural Gas Society of the Permian Basin (NGSPB) Scholarship Program exists to support and develop the next generation of energy professionals with a commitment to the Permian Basin.

This scholarship is designed to invest in students who demonstrate:

  • Academic Achievement
  • Strong Character and Community Involvement
  • Interest in Pursuing Energy-Related Careers
  • lntent to return to or remain in the Permian Basin and contribute to the local community and workforce.

Through the generosity of our members, sponsors, and donors, NGSPB scholarships help students pursue higher education while strengthening the future of our regional energy industry.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school
  • Be recommended by an active NGSPB member in good standing
  • Be pursuing (or planning to pursue) a degree or certification in an energy-related field or a discipline that supports the energy sector
  • Demonstrate intent to work in and contribute to the Permian Basin after completion of education
  • Exhibit strong moral character, leadership, and community involvement

Note: Preference will be given to applicants pursuing careers aligned with the energy industry and those committed to returning to the Permian Basin.

Scholarship Details

  • Scholarship amounts vary based on available funding and applicant scores
  • Awards are issued for one academic year
  • Funds are paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution
  • Recipients must attend the first NGSPB luncheon of the year to receive their award

 Short Answers (150-300 Words):

  • Describe your intended career path.
  • How does your intended field relate to the energy industry?
  • Explain your commitment to the Permian Basin and how you hope to contribute to the community or energy industry in this region.

Recommendation:

  • NGSPB Member Sponsor Info:
    • Name, Company/Affiliation, Email, Phone Number
  • Letter of Recommendation
    • NGSPB member, teacher, mentor, coach, supervisor, etc.
