Bio – Dr. Duncan

Dr. Jim Duncan is the Chief Data Strategist and Director of Commodity Market Research for ConocoPhillips. Ever-changing global market dynamics require a dynamic mix of mathematical modelling, fundamental and technical analysis, a fully developed network of global intelligence, and an experienced team at ConocoPhillips to monitor financial markets and highlight successful economic strategies ahead of market shifts to assist ConocoPhillips and its customers with optimizing their risk positions. Using a unique blend of quantitative, experience and observational skill, his team continually evaluates all facets of the market to optimize asset values and manage risk.

Dr. Duncan is a member of the International Association of Energy Economists and a member of the Advisory Board at Tulane University’s School of Business, a member of the Board at the University of Houston’s School of Business, as well as member of the Advisory Board to the Schools of Business & Meteorology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is on the Advisory Board of the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI), in Columbia University’s Earth Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Physical Inorganic Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
